4364 REVIEW DENIED A plaintiff alleging that in retaliation for supporting a fellow employee's complaint of race discrimination, he was stripped of his supervisory position; threatened with a change in his work schedule; barred from completing supervisory certification courses; embarrassed before subordinates; excluded from meetings; deprived of information necessary to carry out his duties; undermined by removing important contracts; denied an emergency appointment, but required to train the appointee; accused of being confrontational; labeled a troublemaker; had confidential information disclosed to co-workers; and told not to expect an emergency appointment, all of which culminated in a low rank on the civil service list for a position he previously had been groomed to assume, has sufficiently alleged adverse employment action under the materiality test established by the California Supreme Court, as well as under the deterrence test established by the United States Supreme Court; an employment supervisor may be individually liable under the FEHA for retaliation.
