4647 In an action for injury resulting from a dangerous condition of public property, after establishing the existence of a dangerous condition plaintiff bears the burden of establishing either that the public entity negligently created the dangerous condition, or had notice of it for a long enough time to protect against the danger. (The California Supreme Court said that it was deciding the merits of this case for future guidance, but found that CACI VF-1101 was defective, and that plaintiff had waived the argument on appeal because he failed to raise an objection to its use in the trial court.)CitationMETCALF v COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN (Stop Sign Placement) 42 C4 1121, [See: GovC 835; City of Stockton v Superior Court 42 C4 730, P/AT 1/08; Metcalf v County (RevGrtd) 139 CA4 969, T/AT 6/06; Brown v Poway USD 4 C4 820, T/AT 3/93]
