p1609 Under Code of Civil Procedure § 340.6, a client's cause of action against an attorney accrued one year after hiring new counsel and not one year after losing the underlying suit because the client first suffered injury from malpractice upon having to pay new counsel to file the underlying suit, and the cause of action against the attorney did not toll under the continuing representation exception of Code of Civil Procedure § 340.6(a)(2) because the attorney did not continue to advise the client after the client hired new counsel.
